GAME na sinagot ni Iñigo Pascual ang mga personal na katanungan ng reporters sa kanya, maging ang tungkol sa kanyang tatay na si Piolo Pascual, sa press launch ng kanyang self-titled debut album last week.

Bakit sa Amerika siya iniwan o pinatira at pinalaki ng kanyang ama?

“It’s not an issue with me because I was a kid when it happened and my dad never made me feel as if I was not his son. Ever before the DNA test, he was already there, he was already by my side.They told me the reason and that’s also the reason why I went to the States. They wanted me to experience a normal childhood. Ayaw ni Papa na gawin akong parang public property and you don’t want your kid to be harassed,” sagot ng young actor/singer.

“I appreciate that they made me experience a private life, a life na normal ako sa States. I was there from 8 years old to 17,” dagdag niya.

Kailan inamin sa kanya ni Piolo na ito ang kanyang ama?

“He never told me na, ‘hey, you’re my son.’ Parang I just kind of knew na I was his son.”

Aware ang batang Pascual at ramdam niya ang pinagdaanang mga isyu ng ama lalo na ang intriga na kesyo hindi ito ang kanyang tunay na ama.

“Oo nga, nababasa ko anak daw ako ng tita ko. Siyempre, bilang tao, naaasar ka, di ba? Siyempre, sasabihin mo, ‘what kind of mind would even think that?

“Minsan sasabihin na anak ‘yan ng kapatid ni Piolo sa Las Vegas. Di ba, bilang tao, maaasar ka at mapipikon ka. Pero don’t let it affect you kasi alam mo ‘yung totoo and you know who your dad is. You shouldn’t let it bother you. It’s not something na parang… that....” sabi ng bagets.

Nakatulong ba ang paglabas ng DNA test para makumpirmang anak talaga siya ni Piolo?

“To be honest, it’s like something I don’t even think of. It doesn’t really affect me as a person. Siguro to them, ‘yung DNA, it might mean something to them that somewhat confirms that I’m his son. Pero para sa akin, it’s not even… if you’re talking about blood, if you’re talking about son, if ever I would to adopt someone or my mom adopt someone, if you treat them like family, then blood doesn’t matter,” depensa ni Iñigo.

Kamakailan, nag-viral ang photo nilang mag-ama habang magkatabi sa higaan dahil binigyan ng malisya ng marami.

“Grabe. I can’t even believe they can think of those things. Nu’ng tinanong ako about that, sabi ko, ‘Ano’ng isasagot ko du’n? What’s the good answer for that?’ If I let them affect me, then that’s my problem. Pero kung wala sa akin ‘yon, that’s their problem,” prangkang sagot ni Iñigo.

Samantala, laman ng album na Iñigo Pascual ang tatlong sariling composition niya -- ang carrier single niyang Dahil Sa ’Yo, at ang Fallen at Dito.
