Ito ang inihayag ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay, kung saan binigyang diin ng kalihim na kinakailangan pa rin ng bansa ang wisdom at expertise ng dating Pangulo.

“He just resigned on the basis of what he has done, he did a lot of very valuable assistance in making this relationship with China stronger and making the trip of President Duterte possible. His job has been completed, although I don’t think the need of the country for his service, his advice has ended, because that will continue to be,” ayon kay Yasay sa isang panayam.

Kamakailan lang, tinanggap na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang resignation ni Ramos.

Samantala hindi kumbinsido si Yasay na may sigalot sa pagitan nina Duterte at Ramos kaya nagbitiw ang huli. Sinabi ni Yasay na “very close” ang dalawa. Sa katunayan, si Ramos umano ang nag-endorso kay Chito Sta. Romana upang maging Ambassador sa China na tinanggap naman ng Pangulo.
