NAGTIPUN-TIPON ang female stars upang ipagdiwang ang “Women in Hollywood” awards ng Elle sa Beverly Hills noong Lunes habang papalapit ang U.S. election, na posibleng magbigay sa United States ng unang babaeng pangulo.

Lumakad sa red carpet ang mga aktres na sina Felicity Jones at Lupita Nyong gayundin ang Twilight co-stars na sina Kristen Stewartat Dakota Fanning para sa annual awards bilang pagdiriwang sa kontribusyon ng kababaihan sa industriya ng pelikula.

Tinalakay ng karamihan sa mga aktres ang U.S. election, na dalawang linggo na lamang bago maganap, at posibleng magluklok kay Hillary Clinton bilang America’s first female president.

“I think the power and the presence of America on the international stage in the world it will really be sending an amazing message if there is a female president,” sabi ng British actress na si Helen Mirren.

“I’ve been to these events before and it is a lot of fun to get women together to tell their stories... especially now during this election process when women have had some dirt kicked on them,” sabi ni Oscar winner Kathy Bates, na ang tinutukoy ay ang palitan ng maaanghang sa salita sa political campaign.

Kabilang din ang Enchanted actress na si Amy Adams sa mga aktres na pinarangalan ng Elle at nagpahayag ng pagiging positibo.

“There is always more work to be done, but I choose to focus on the positive,” sabi ni Amy.

“There are so many wonderful women who are making great strides to create change and I think we need to focus on that.”
