Hindi pa bumabalik sa bansa si dating Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III, nahaharap sa kasong may kaugnayan sa illegal drug trade sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Ayon kay Justice Undersecretary Erickson Balmes, iniulat ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na dapat ay babalik sa bansa sa Oktubre 23 si Baraan, mula sa Estados Unidos.
“To date he has not returned to the Philippines,” ani Balmes.
Nauna nang nagpalabas ng statement ang anak ni Baraan na si Frank Baraan IV. Sinabi niyang nagtungo sa US ang kanyang ama noong Agosto 25 para magpagamot.

“Rest assured, he isn’t running away from anything, or avoiding any possible prosecution. He would face all allegations and issues against him in a real court of law--not in a court of ‘trial by publicity’--if and when somebody actually files formal complaints against him,” ayon sa statement.
