Sentro ng imbestigasyon sa bubuuing Commission ng Federation Internationale De Volleyball (FIVB) ang pagsisiyasat sa proseso na isinagawa ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) tungo sa pagpapatalsik sa Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) bilang recognized-member ng Olympics body.

Sa sulat ng FIVB na may petsang Oktubre 18, 2016 at pirmado ni FIVB General Director M. Fabio Azevedo kina PVF outgoing president Karl Geoffrey L. Chan II at Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. president Jose Romasanta, kinila ng Laussane-based international federation ang isyu at usapin sa isinumite ng magkabilang panig sa isinagawang 35th FIVB World Congress nitong Oktubre 5 sa Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“Reference is made to item 5 (C) of the Agenda of the 35th FIVB World Congress and to the decision of said body dated October 5 2016 to create a Commission in order to investigate the governance of the sport of volleyball in the Philippines,” sambit ni Azevedo.

Sa naturang World Congress idinulog ng PVF, kinatawan nina legal counsel Dean Jose Roy III at PVF deputy secretary general Gerald Cantada ang kawalan ng proseso, gayundin ang kutsabahan ng POC at LVPI para palabasin na nagkakagulo ang liderato ng PVF dahilan para alisan ng recognition ng Olympic body bilang national sports association ng volleyball sa bansa.

Batay sa POC bylaws and constitution, magbibigay lamang ng recognition sa bagong sports association kung napatalsik bilang miyembro ng Olympic body ang dating national sports association bunsod ng iba’t ibang dahilan tulad ng kabiguan sa paglulunsad ng pambansang programa.

Kakailanganin din ang botong three-fourth sa kabuuang 46 miyembro ng POC sa General Assembly para bawiin ang suporta at pagkilala sa isang regular member.

Sa kaso ng PVF, iginiit ng kasalukuyang pangulo na si Edgardo ‘Boy’ Cantada na hindi nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang PVF na maiharap ang usapin sa General Assembly.

“The terms of reference of the Commission will be as follows;

*To understand the decision making process which led the Philippine Olympic Committee to withdraw recognition to the Philippine Volleyball Federation;

*To verify the existence and/or status of legal proceedings (if any between the Philippine Volleyball Federation, the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. and the Philippine Olympic Committee, and

*To make a recommendation for decision to the 36th FIVB World Congress to be held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2018,” pahayag ni Azevedo.

Sa naturang sulat kinatigan din ng FIVB ang maayos na pamamaraang ginawa ng PVF para maiparating ang kanilang hinaing.

“The federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) wishes to thank you for your conduct at the 35th FIVB World Congress and would like to inform you of the next steps in relation with the abovementioned matter,” pahayag sa sulat ni Azevedo.

“First, the FIVB would like to stress that the regulatory framework governing the procedure is the FIVB Constitution, the FIVB General Regulations and the FIVB Disciplinary Regulations, and the Olympic Charter.
