Tinawag niya itong “a simplistic, self-involved gasbag of a candidate.”
Nasa Rome si Hanks para tumanggap ng lifetime achievement award sa film festival ng lungsod, at nakipagbiruan sa press bago ang seremonya tungkol sa pagkakatulad ni Trump at ni dating Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
‘’Why the Trump?’’ aniya, ginaya ang isa sa maraming Italian journalists na nagbato sa kanya ng parehong katanungan, bago sinagot ang sarili na: ‘’You’re Italian. Why the Berlusconi?’’
