Tagumpay para sa Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF).
Ipinahayag ni PVF deputy secretary general Gerald Cantada na kinatigan ng International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) ang petisyon na inihain nila sa FIVB World Congress nitong Miyerkules (Huwebes sa Manila) sa Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Sa Facebook message, sinabi ni Cantada na kinalugdan ng FIVB Congress ang kanilang isinumiteng dokumento, gayundin ang paliwanag sa ginanap na pagdinig ng kapulungan hingil sa tunay na kaganapan sa pamamalakad ng volleyball sa Pilipinas.

“Atty. Roy, the PVF legal counsel, managed to answer all the quarries and explained the real story in the affair of volleyball in the Philippines. In the end, the FIVB announced to investigate the matter,” pahayag ni Cantada, multi-title international golf player.
“The FIVB affirmed its recognition to PVF,”aniya.
Ayon kay Cantada, mismong si FIVB re-elected president Dr. Ary S. Garcia, ang nagutos para sa pagbuo ng ‘Special Commission’ na magasagawa ng imbestigasyon sa volleyball sa Pilipinas.
‘The odds were against us, but all the way to the presentation of PVF, we received applause. Instead of removing PVF, the congress ordered a creation of a special commission to investigate Philippine Volleyball,” pahayag ni Cantada.
“The PVF is satisfied that the FIVB Congress has refused to expel the PVF and recognized LVPI. Amidst controversy and disbelief at the case presented by Dean Jose Roy III, counsel for PVF, the members of the FIVB Congress have decided to create a special commission to investigate the case of the Philippines,” aniya.
Iminungkahi rin ng FIVB ang magtalaga ng pansamantalng ‘third body’ habang gumugulong ang imbestigasyon.
Matatandaang kontrobersyal na binuwag ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ang PVF at nakipagkutsabahan kay Tatz Suzara para mabuo ang Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas (LVPI) na siyang ginagamit ngayong pananggalang ng Philippine Super Liga para maisulong ang commercial league sa bansa.
Ang PSL ay pinatatakbo ng Sports CORE na pagmamayari rin ni Suzara.
‘Hindi naman masamang kumita, pero hindi nararapat na gamitin ang sports para maisulong ang personal na agenda,” pahayag ni PVF President Edgardo ‘Boy’ Cantada. (Edwin Rollon)
