Sa ikalimang round, ibinato ng kampo ni Brook ang puting tuwalya – tanda ng pagsuko – matapos makorner at paliguan nang kombinasyon sa mukha at katawan ni Golovkin para sa isa pang TKO win ng Kazakhtan superstar nitong Sabado (Linggo sa Manila) sa O2 Arena sa London.

Bunsod ng panalo, nahila ng Kazakh ang ring record sa matikas na 36-0.

“I respect him. He’s good but not so strong,” pahayag ni Golovkin.

“I don’t feel his power. So many punches and I don’t feel.”

“I’m open for everybody,” sambit ni Golovkin.

Natamo ni Brook ang unang kabiguan sa 37 pro fight.

“I expected him to be a bigger puncher,” aniya.

“In the second round he broke my eye socket but I was tricking him, I was frustrating him. I was starting to settle into it but when you see three, four, five of them it’s difficult.

“I hurt him. When you’re in the fight you can see, his legs buckled a little. ... I would fight him again, with a good eye.”

Kinatigan ng crowd ang naging desisyon ni Dominic Ingle, trainer ni Brook, na itapon ang putting towel.

“You can’t be fighting a guy like Golovkin when you can’t even focus on the guy,” pahayag ni Eddie Hearn, patungkol sa nabasag na kanang mata ni Brook.
