Panauhing pandangal si three-time UAAP volleyball MVP Alyssa Valdez sa opening ceremony, ayon kay season host St. Jude College School Director Rev. Fr. Vicente Rayco.
“Undoubtedly, she is the most popular player when it comes to volleyball, and her passion for the sports, as well as her perseverance and willingness to win, is a good inspiration and way to motivate our young athletes,” pahayag ni Rayco.
“We want them to improve, strive and be among the best,” aniya.
Samantala, sisimulan ng Centro Escolar University ang kampanya para sa ikaanim na sunod na senior’s basketball title kontra Philippine Women’s University sa tampok na laro sa triplebill match.
Nakatakda ang duwelo ng CEU Scorpions at last year’s third placer PWU Patriots sa ganap na 1:30 ng hapon, kasunod ang salpukan ng University of Asia & the Pacific at Miriam College.
Magkakasubukan naman sa high school division ang Saint Jude Catholic School at St. Stephen’s High School sa ganap na 12:00 ng tanghali Magsisimula ang programa sa ganap na 10:00 ng umaga.
“We’ll try our best to extend our domination in seniors basketball even without Janine Pontejos, who’s now in the Philippine team. We have a new team and two high school students in our lineup,” sambit ni CEU assistant to the vice president student affairs Juanita Alamillo sa press launch nitong Miyerkules.

Vivian Manila (executive director), Dolores Fernandez ng St. Paul College Pasig (president), Rene Ledesma ng UA&P (vice president), Ma. Angelica dela Cruz ng San Beda College-Alabang (secretary general), Ma. Patricia Makabenta ng St. Pedro Poveda College (assistant sec. gen.), Bernadine Yamamoto ng De La Salle Zobel (finance officer), Alamillo (asst. finance officer), Yolando Co ng Chiang Kai Shek College (auditor), at Sherwin Tiu ng SJCS (liaison officer).
