NAIUWI nina Jazz Nicolas at Wally Acolala ang grand prize na may premyong one-million peso at much-coveted na Orlina trophy sa jampacked na finals night ng Philpop 2016 para sa kanilang nilikhang awiting ‘Di Na Muli na in-interpret ng banda ni Jazz na Itchyworms.

Tinanghal namang 2nd place ang entry ni Soc Villanueva na Lahat, interpreted by Jason Dy, at 3rd place sina Paolo at Miguel Guico para sa awiting Tinatangi, interpreted by Bayang Barrios and Cooky Chua featuring The Benjamins.

Ngayon ay kasama na sila sa hanay ng most talented songwriters na tinitingala na kanilang mga kapwa kompositor at inirerespeto ng industriya sa kabuuan.

Napanalunan din nina Soc Villanueva at Jayson Dy ang Maynilad People’s Choice Award, sa pagkakaroon ng pinakamaraming streams sa awiting Lahat. Ang Maynilad People’s Choice awardee ay nag-uwi ng P100,000 at ng customized Castrillo trophy.

Ang Tinatangi ng Guico brothers naman ang nagwagi ng PLDT-Smart Best Music Video. Nag-uwi rin sila ng total cash prize na P100,000 plus a customized Castrillo trophy.

Bukod sa top prize na P1M ang, PhilPop 2016 winners ay nag-uwi rin ng cash prizes na P500,000 para sa first runner up at P250,000 para sa second runner up. Ang top 3 winners ay tumanggap ng tropeong nilikha ni Ramon Orlina. Ngayong taon, lahat ng finalists at interpreters ay ginawaran ng special trophies customized by Ronald Castrillo.

Naging host ang wonder boys ng Boys Night Out at si Bella Padilla, at nagtanghal ng production number ang guest performers na sina Ogie Alcasid, Aiza Seguerra, Donna Cruz, Andrew E., Chad Borja, Mark Bautista, Kim Molina, Jeric Medina at past PhilPop grand prize winners na sina Thyro Alfaro at Yumi Lacsamana. Ang show ay ipinalabas sa delayed telecast via TV5 noong Hulyo 23.

Naging judges sina Noel Cabangon, Gloc-9, Joanna Ampil, Maynilad COO Randolf T. Estrellado at FILSCAP President Rico Blanco.
