Paris (AFP) – Sinuportahan ng International Judo Federation nitong Huwebes (Biyernes sa Manila) ang pagnanais ng Russia na makalaro sa Olympic kahit nahaharap ang kanilang bansa sa blanket ban dulot ng state-backed doping.
Lumabas ang pahayag ng IJF, na mahahalintulad sa kontrobersiyal na “Cold War” sa pulitika ang desisyon ng Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) na ibasura ang apela ng mga atleta ng track and field sa Russia sa desisyon na banned mula sa IAAF.
"We support all these clean athletes and we hope that they will be present in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016," pahayag ni IJF president Marius Vizer.
"From a Judo perspective, the presence of Russian athletes is very important, as the Russian Judo Federation is a prominent member of the International Judo Federation, with a notable contribution to the development of judo, Russian judo playing a great role in the history of our sport,” aniya.

Ayon pa kay Vizer, naniniwala sila na nararapat magbigay-daan sa pagkakaisa ang Olympic Games sa mga atleta at lahat ng tao sa buong mundo.
