“We are considered there as one of the underdogs but I still believe we can compete against strong oppositions in that tournament,” sambit ni Rivera, 2010 Asian Games gold medalist sa Guangzhou, China.
“Our modest goal is to win a medal. Any medal will be a good performance,” aniya.

Target ng koponan na tuldukan ang mahabang panahon ng pagkauhaw sa kampeonato. Huling nagwagi sa torneo ang Pinoy noong 1992 edition sa Caracas, Venezuela nang manalo si Angelo Constantino. Noong 1998, naka-bronze medal lamang si RJ Bautista.
