Ipinaaresto kahapon ng Sandiganbayan sina Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, outgoing San Juan City Vice Mayor Francisco Zamora, at 13 pang opisyal ng lungsod kaugnay sa kinakaharap na technical malversation case na nag-ugat sa umano’y maanomalyang pagbili ng assault weapons noong 2008.
Sa inilabas na ruling ng 6th Division ng anti-graft court, ang pagpapalabas nila ng warrant of arrest ay batay na rin sa matibay na ebidensiya na isa sa mga dahil upang iharap sa paglilitis ang mga ito.
“After going over the Information [of the case] and evaluating the Resolution of the Office of the Ombudsman, the evidence in support thereof and the records of the preliminary investigation attached thereto, the Court finds probable cause for the issuance of a warrant of arrest against the accused,” pagdidiin ng korte.
Ibinasura na rin ng korte ang mga motion for judicial determination of probable cause ng mga akusado na humihiling na ibasura ang kaso.

“The arguments raised by the respondents in their motions are but matters of defense that are best addressed during the trial of this case and/or considered in the determination of the guilt or innocence of the accused,” ayon sa hukuman.
Kahapon, nagpiyansa na rin si Zamora at dalawa pang akusado sa kaso na sina dating City Councilor Angelino Mendoza at Rolando Bernardo.
Tig-P6,000 ang inilagak na piyansa nina Zamora, Mendoza at Bernardo para sa pansamatalang kalayaan ng mga ito.
