“This is an exciting day for New York and our fans,” pahayag ni Hornacek.
“Derrick is one of the top point guards in the NBA who is playoff battle-tested. He adds a whole new dynamic to our roster and immediately elevates our backcourt.”
Ipinamigay ng New York sina center Robin Lopez at guard Jose Calderon at Jerian Grant, habang kasamang nakuhang kapalit si guard Justin Holiday at karapatan sa second round pick sa 2017.
“Derrick has meant a lot to this organization and to this city and to this team and has had to overcome a lot over the years with all the injuries to get back to the point he was,” pahayag ni Bulls general manager Gar Forman.
“But in putting our plan together, we felt as a first step this really made sense for us.”
“He has been through a lot with the injuries. You really have to admire how he continues to work and fight through everything that he’s been through. In moving forward, we thought the players we were getting in this deal made sense in what we’re trying to accomplish,” ayon kay Forman.
