DAVAO CITY – Kumambiyo si incoming President Rodrigo Duterte tungkol sa plano niyang palayain ang lahat ng political prisoner sa bansa, sinabing dapat na bumalik muna sa bansa at makibahagi sa usapang pangkapayapaan sa gobyerno ang mga leader ng komunistang organisasyon.
“You must come here. We must be talking to each other,” sinabi ni Duterte sa impromptu press conference sa Legaspi Suites nitong Lunes ng gabi.
Ayon sa kanya, ang anumang resolusyon sa sigalot, partikular sa pagpapalaya sa mga political prisoner, “should be (done in) good faith, (because it is) a show of confidence.”
Inulit din ni Duterte ang imbitasyon niya kay Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founding chairman Jose Ma. Sison, na nasa exile sa Utrecht, The Netherlands, na bumalik na sa bansa.

“If (Sison) wants to talk, and join the government, he could,” ani Duterte.
Binigyang-diin ni Duterte na kung babalik sa bansa ang mga pinuno ng CPP at National Democratic Front (NDF) at “would be willing to talk peace, peace will come to the land.”
“I suppose we can work together to have a peaceful nation. ‘Yan ang habol ko,” sabi ng outgoing Davao City mayor.
Una nang sinabi ni Duterte na handa siyang agad na ipag-utos ang pagpapalaya sa mga political prisoners bilang gesture of goodwill sa CPP-NDF, at nag-alok pa ng posisyon sa kanyang Gabinete para sa grupong rebelde.
SIMPLE NGA LANG
Sa kaparehong press conference, sinabi ni Duterte na posibleng mag-isa lang siya kapag nanumpa siya sa tungkulin bilang ika-16 na pangulo ng Pilipinas sa Hunyo 30.
Ang mas ikinasasama pa ng kanyang loob ay hindi siya makadadalo sa oath-taking ng mga anak niyang sina Sarah Duterte-Carpio at Paolo Duterte, na nahalal na alkalde at bise alkalde ng Davao City.
“How could I be here (in Davao)? Wala naman akong bilocation. I could not be here and there (Maynila) at the same time. It’s just too bad I can’t be here with my two children,” aniya.
Iginiit din ni Duterte na gusto niya ng simpleng inauguration ceremony, at gagawin ito sa Malacañang, hindi sa Quirino Grandstand, “to keep the guest list to as low as 150 persons, to include members of the diplomatic corps and generals of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.”
“Sa inauguration, sabi ko nga simple lang. I will take my oath of office not in Luneta (Quirino Grandstand) because I will just create a monstrous traffic congestion I hate putting pressure on people and become an inconvenience to everybody,” sabi ni Duterte. (JONATHAN A. SANTES)
