Pararangalan ng Kamara de Representantes ang isang taxi driver na nagpamalas ng katapatan at integridad makaraang isauli nito ang isang bag na naglalaman ng P50,000 cash at iba pang personal na gamit na naiwan ng isang Uzbekistan bank official sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Pinuri ni Parañaque Rep. Eric Olivarez si Miguel Ardiente, driver ng Royal Transport Service na nakatalaga sa NAIA Terminal 1, matapos nitong isauli ang isang itim na bag ni Ikram Ibraginov, board chairman ng Hamkor Bank sa Uzbekistan.
“His honesty and truthfulness is proof of the Filipino people' s good moral and strong character. His example proves that the Philippines is not only great for its astounding islands but also because of its amiable people,” saad sa House Resolution No. 2677 na isinusulong ni Olivarez.
Walang pag-aalinlangan na bumalik ni Ardiente sa NAIA Terminal upang hanapin ang may-ari ng bag. At nang hindi niya matagpuan si Ibraginov, iniwan niya ito sa pangangalaga ng Lost and Found Section ng paliparan.
Nang matukoy ang pagkakakilanlan ang may-ari ng bag, ipinadala sa Uzbekistan bank official ang bag sa pamamagitan ng courier service nitong Pebrero 4, 2016.
“Mr. Ardiente's noble act shows Filipino's character of pure heart and this he exhibited amid modern society that grows even more acquisitive every day,” pahayag ng kongresista.
“Mr. Miguel Ardiente Jr. serves a role model, especially to those who belong to the same profession, thus, his act of honesty and kindness is indeed worthy of acknowledgement and recognition from this August body,” giit niya. (Charissa M. Luci)
