Isinusulong ng mga mambabatas ang modernong Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) para makatugon nang husto sa mga alarma ng sunog.
Ang House Bill 6383 (Fire Protection Modernization Act of 2015) nina MAGDALO Party-list Reps. Gary C. Alejano at Francisco Ashley L. Acedillo ay naglalayong magkaroon ng modernong kagamitan sa ilalim ng Fire Protection Modernization Program (FPMP). Magtatatag din ng mga fire station at Emergency Medical Services (EMS) sa lahat ng pamahalaang lokal.
“The increased economic activity in the country has set aside safety standards and prevention measures that will prevent, mitigate and lessen industrial and residential accidents caused by fire. Hopefully this bill will institutionalize the BFP modernization program,” ani Alejano.
Maglalaan ng P8 bilyon para rito na kukunin mula sa kita ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), at General Appropriations Act. (Bert de Guzman)
