Kasunod ng pambobomba sa anim na paaralan sa Maguindanao, posibleng ipag-utos ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang paglipat sa mga polling precinct sa ibang lugar na malapit sa apektadong pasilidad.
Sinabi ni Comelec Commissioner Sheriff Abas na dahil nasira ang mga eskuwelahan, may posibilidad na maglabas ang komisyon ng exemption para ilipat ang mga kinauukulang polling precinct.
“The commission en banc will deliberate on the matter and immediately resolve where we can transfer the polling precincts,” aniya.
Kabilang sa mga posibleng lugar na tinitingnan nila bilang mga alternatibong polling center ay ang mga pribadong paaralan na katabi ng mga apektadong establisimyento.

“If you cannot use the precincts, or if it was burnt or bombed, we really have to transfer that. The en banc will order the transfer,” dagdag ni Abas.
Bukod sa paglilipat sa mga polling precinct, sinabi ng Comelec official na may posibilidad rin na papalitan ang Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) ng mga miyembro ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
We have a process for that. If the teachers will refuse to serve as BEIs, most likely they will be substituted by PNP personnel,” dagdag niya.
Nitong Miyerkules, anim na paaralan sa Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao ang inatake ng mga hindi nakilalang salarin.
Ang mga paaralang ito ay ang: Tapayan Central School, Dagurungan Elementary School, Tuka Elementary School, Darping Elementary School, Tareken Primary, at Simuay Seashore Elementary School.
Kaugnay nito, ayon kay Abas, pinag-aaralan ng Comelec–Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Personnel kung isasailalim ang lalawigan sa Comelec Control (Category 4).
“As far as I know, several municipalities in Maguindanao are already under Category 3, which is a combination of having intense political rivalry (Category 1) and presence of armed groups (Category 2),” dagdag niya. (PNA)
