Lubos ang pasasalamat ng Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) sa pamunuan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) dahil sa suporta nito sa electric vehicle industry na naging instrumento sa paglago ng naturang sektor sa nakalipas na mga taon.
Sinabi ni EVAP President Rommel Juan sa appreciation dinner na ipinagkaloob ni DTI Secretary Adrian Cristobal Jr. bilang pagkilala sa kontribusyon sa ekonomiya ng electric vehicle sector, na mahalaga ang kontribusyon ng DTI, kasama ang Board of Investments (BoI), sa pagsulong ng kanilang produkto sa bansa.
“With help from the DTI and BOI, we had to go to China to look for electric vehicle components that were not available locally. It was through the efforts of then Commercial Counsellor Rico Mariano of Beijing that we were able to find the suppliers we needed,” pahayag ni Juan, sa pagsariwa sa pagsisimula ng industriya halos siyam na taon na ang nakararaan.
“As we strove to develop the EV industry further, the task was picked up by the next Beijing commercial counsellor Christine De La Cruz, who ably introduced us to even more suppliers and the big boys of the Chinese automotive industry,” dagdag ni Juan.

Ito ang naging inspirasyon ng EVAP upang iorganisa ang Philippine EV Summit at imbitahan ang mga foreign investor na mamuhunan sa EV industry at makipagtambalan sa mga EV manufacturer.
