Nagpaalala ang Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) sa mga naghahanap ng trabaho na susugod sa iba’t ibang job fair sa Mayo 1 (Labor Day), na ihanda na ang kanilang mga dokumento.

Ang tema ng 2016 Labor Day celebration ay “Kinabukasan Sigurado sa Disenteng Trabaho,” na nagbibigay-diin sa pagsisikap ng DoLE na matiyak ang disenteng trabaho para sa kinabukasan ng bansa.

“Being prepared will give our jobseekers higher chances of finding jobs suited to their qualifications as employers can already pre-screen their documents and interview those who are qualified,” sabi ni Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.

Idinagdag niya na ang pagkakaroon ng lahat ng nakahandang dokumento sa pre-employment ay magpapabilis at magpapadali sa job selection at pagpoproseso ng mga employer.

“This will increase the chances of applicants to be hired-on-the-spot (HOTS),” dagdag ni Baldoz.

Kabilang sa mga dokumentong hinihingi ng mga employer sa mga job fair ay resume o curriculum vitae (magdala ng maraming kopya para sa maraming job application); 2 x 2 ID picture; certificate of employment para sa mga dating may trabaho; diploma and/or transcript of records; at authenticated birth certificate.

“Whether you are going to the job fair at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, or to another job fair in a particular city or province, a basic requirement is to have your application documents ready as job opportunities in all the 44 job fairs will be aplenty on 1 May,” sabi ni Baldoz.

Magkakaroon ng mahigit 200,000 bakante sa 44 na job fair na lalahukan ng 1,000 employer, 800 lokal at 200 banyagang kumpanya, sa 17 rehiyon sa bansa.

“Do a little research on the company you are interested in. This will be a big help in the interviews. Employers will interview, pre-select, and hire on-the-spot qualified workers, but if the applicant is not qualified, he may opt to look for other vacancies,” payo ni Baldoz. (Leslie Ann Aquino)
