Tutulak si Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ramon Paje sa New York upang katawanin si Pangulong Aquino sa pormal na paglalagda sa Paris Agreement sa United Nations (UN) Headquarters sa Abril 22.
Ang kasunduan ay patunay ng pangako ng bansa sa pagbawas sa carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
“As one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, the Philippines is firm on its stand on limiting its GHG emissions,” sabi ni Paje.
Ang Paris Agreement ay tinalakay at pinagtibay ng 196 na bansa sa idinaos na 21st Conference of Parties ng UN Framework Convention on Climate Change sa Paris noong Disyembre.
