Isinantabi ng World Archery Philippines (dating Philippine Archer’s National Network and Alliance, Inc. at National Archery Association of the Philippines) ang partisipasyon sa 11th World Cup 2016 third leg sa Shanghai, China sa Abril 24 hanggang Mayo 1.

Para mas makatipid, sinabi ni WAP president Jesus Clint Aranas na napagdesisyunan ng bagong liderato ng asosasyon na sumailalim na lang ang national squad sa two-month in-house training sa Cebu.

“Just after the 2016 Asian Cup World Ranking Tournament-Stage 1 in Bangkok, Thailand late last month, we (WAP) ordered members of the Philippine Archery team to pack their bags for a two-month stiff training with national and visiting foreign coaches in the Visayas area in preparation for the PH Team’s final bid to earn an Olympic slot in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this August,” sabi ni Aranas.

Nabigo sa medalya ang national recurve men’s and women’s team sa Bangkok noong Marso 20-27 habang nag-uwi ang national women’s compound team ng silver sa pangunguna ni Ma. Amaya Amparo Cojuangco, na nakapilak sa individual.

Goodbye PBA? John Amores, tinanggalan na ng professional license!

Kasama niya sa team sina Jennifer Chan, Andrea Robles, Joann Tabañag at Abbigail Tindugan.

Ang Shanghai tournament dapat ang magiging warm up ng Nationals bago magsitudla sa 2016 World Cup fifth/last leg qualifying event sa hunyo. 16-19 sa Antalya, Turkey. (Angie Oredo)
