Bumawi ang import at dumoble pa ang bilang nitong Enero 2016 mula sa pagbaba sa sinusundang buwan sa mas mataas na pagmimili ng capital goods, raw materials at intermediate goods, at consumer goods, ayon sa National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

Iniulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ang total payments for imported goods ay tumaas ng 30.8 porsiyento nitong Enero 2016, bumawi mula sa 25.8% pagbaba noong Disyembre 2015.

“This imports growth is the highest level reached since November 2010. Significantly, the value of imported capital goods, a leading indicator for strong economic activity, grew by 80.4 percent in Jan. 2016. This was the highest monthly year-on-year increase of capital goods since Sept. 1996,” sabi ni Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Emmanuel Esguerra. - PNA
