Pinagpapaliwanag ng Supreme Court (SC) ang isang manunulat ng Manila Times hinggil sa kanyang news report tungkol sa umano’y suhulan sa mga mahistrado na may kinalaman sa disqualification case ni Senator Grace Poe.
“Wherefore, Mr. Jomar Canlas is ordered to explain within five (5) days from receipt hereof, why no sanction should be imposed on him for indirect contempt of court in accordance with Section 3(d), Rule 71 of the 1997 Rules on Civil Procedure,” saad sa resolusyon ng SC na may petsang Marso 15, 2016 na inilabas ni Clerk of Court Atty. Felipa Anama.
Iginiit ng SC na ang mga alegasyon sa isinulat ni Canlas ay nakaapekto hindi lamang sa integridad ng SC kundi maging sa pagbibigay nito ng hustisya sa mga kaso.

Bisperas ng en banc session na nagbotohan ang mga mahistrado sa disqualification case ni Poe nang lumabas ang nasabing ulat sa Manila Times nitong Marso 8, 2016, na may titulong “Justices offered P50-M bribe to disqualify Poe—sources.” (Leonard D. Postrado)
