Hindi rin gagamitin ang voter’s receipt printing feature ng mga vote counting machine (VCM) sa overseas absentee voting (OAV).
Sinabi ni Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Andres Bautista na nagdesisyon silang huwag nang i-activate ang nasabing feature sa lahat ng idaraos na eleksiyon.
“They will also get the onscreen verification. No receipts,” ani Bautista.
Sa pamamagitan ng onscreen verification, magagawa na ng botante “to verify the accuracy of the VCM’s interpretation of the ballot before the latter is dropped into the ballot box.”

“Although you can make an argument that its a dissimilar situation given that overseas Filipinos are given 30 days to vote...but we decided to just make it the same for all,” paliwanag niya.
Una nang ikinonsidera ng Comelec ang paggamit ng voter receipt feature ng VCM sa OAV, dahil isang buwan (Abril 9-Mayo 9) ang gagawing pagboto sa ibang bansa kumpara sa halalan dito.
Matatandaang pinal nang nagdesisyon ang Comelec na hindi ito gagamit ng voter’s receipt sa eleksiyon sa Mayo 9, dahil bukod sa mapapahaba ang oras ng pagboto, delikado pa umanong magamit ito sa vote buying. (Leslie Ann G. Aquino)
