The Bureau of Customs has seized 200 boxes of “Pacquiao” playing cards, disposable razor blades, glue, and other counterfeit items at the Mindanao Container Terminal in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental recently.
“They are all fake goods from China,” said Customs Intelligence and Investigation officer-in-charge Alvin Enciso in the Port of Cagayan de Oro.
“They have violations of Intellectual Property Rights,” Enciso added.
According to Enciso, the shavers bear the markings “Gitteile,” imitation version of popular brand Gillette, which arrived at MCT, along with playing cards that have the image of Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.

The next day, intelligence agents conducted a 100 percent examination on the cargo, where they found the counterfeit products.
Apart from the cards and razors, found inside the 40-foot container van were fake pens, toothbrush, plastic cups, kiddie bikes, and glue.
Enciso said the shipment was misdeclared as 1,248 pieces of glass cups upon arrival at the CDO port. He identified the consignee of the knock-offs as Rcbl Trading.
The intelligence official said he has built an airtight case against the importer.
The district collector of CDO port is expected to issue a warrant of seizure and detention against the shipment for violating the Tariffs and Customs Code of the Philippines (TCCP). (Raymund F. Antonio)
