Aprubado na ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang P7 na minimum jeep fare sa Regions 2 (Cagayan Valley) at 5 (Bicol).
Ayon sa LTFRB, resulta ito ng P.50-centavo reduction sa kasalukuyang P7.50 na pasahe sa public utility jeep (PUJ).
Ipinaliwanag ng ahensiya na nauna nang ipinatupad sa Metro Manila, Region 3 (Central Luzon), Region 4 (Calabarzon, Mimaropa) at Region 7 (Central Visayas) ang naturang fare reduction.
“After careful evaluation of the recommendation of Regional Office 2, (and 5), the Board hereby resolves to grant a provisional fare reduction of 50 centavos for the first four kilometers or from a provisional fare of P7.50 to P7.00 and the retention of the rate at P1.40 for every succeeding kilometer thereafter,” pahayag ng LTFRB.

Nilinaw ng ahensiya na kabilang din sa makikinabang sa bawas-pasahe ang persons with disability (PWDs), mga senior citizen, at mga estudyante, bukod pa ang 20 porsiyento na diskuwento sa mga ito.
Sinabi ng LTFRB na pansamantalang ipatutupad ang naturang fare reduction dahil na rin sa patuloy na pagbulusok ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo sa pandaigdigang merkado.
Idinagdag pa ng LTFRB na ipatutupad kaagad ang bawas-pasahe pagkatapos na mailathala sa pang-araw-araw na pahayagan sa bansa. (Rommel P. Tabbad)
