KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – Sinabi ng attorney-general ng Malaysia nitong Martes na ang $681 million na inilipat sa personal bank account ni Prime Minister Najib Razak ay regalo mula sa royal family ng Saudi Arabia at walang sangkot na criminal offence o katiwalian.

Ang pagkakadawit ng Saudi royal family ay hindi inaasahang twist sa eskandalo sa mga misteryosong funds transfer at suliranin ng state fund na 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), na si Najib ang chairman ng advisory board.

“I am satisfied with the findings that the funds were not a form of graft or bribery,” sabi ni attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali sa isang news conference, na inilabas ang pahayag na nagsasabing ibinalik ni Najib ang $620 million sa Saudi royal family dahil hindi ito nagamit.

“There was no reason given as to why the donation was made to PM Najib, that is between him and the Saudi family,” ani Apandi.
