Dahil sa pamamalsipika ng kanyang personal data sheet (PDS), kinasuhan na sa Sandiganbayan ang isang retiradong heneral ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
Ayon kay Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales, bukod sa pagkakasibak sa serbisyo ay pinagbawalan na rin si dating PNP Gen. Akmad Mamalinta na magtrabaho sa gobyerno at kinansela na rin ang retirement benefits nito.
Paliwanag ni Morales, dapat na managot sa kasong kriminal at administratibo si Mamalinta na dating deputy regional director ng Police Regional Office 11 na nakabase sa Davao City, dahil sa tinatawag na “untruthful entries” sa kanyang PDS.
Batay sa imbestigasyon ng Ombudsman, natuklasan na noong 2000 ay idineklara ni Mamalinta na isa siyang Career Executive Service Officer at kumuha ng Master’s Degree sa Philippine Christian University (PCU).
Sinabi ni Morales na “nagsinungaling si Mamalinta nang pasinungalingan ng Civil Service Commission (CSC) at PCU ang pahayag ng dating heneral.”
“In accomplishing and filing a PDS for purposes of promotion, all applicants have the legal obligation to disclose the truth of the data required especially their qualifications. Mamalinta’s act of concealing the truth and deliberately asserting falsehoods in more than one entry in his PDS clearly exhibits his moral depravity, lack of integrity and predisposition to conceal the truth not only from his office but from the public, in general,” ani Morales.
