Alma & Karen copy copy

“I got a call from Ness because she wants to come out in one of my shows, napakagalang ni Ness and of course because she’s running for a senate seat, so I would imagine that she needs a lot of media exposure. Kahit mayroon siyang organization ng mga konsehal sa buong Pilipinas, you really need a lot of exposure.

“It’s not anybody’s fault, hindi lang sila nagtagpo, Karen did her job, Ness assumed probably that it was just an ordinary interview. The questions are... was it the fault of Karen that she wants to talk RH Bill, she wanted to get, to pick the brain of Ness about same sex marriage? No!

Headstart is a political show.

“Ness I think was also trying, but to a certain extent she showed her that she was not conversant to the topics.

What is the lesson there? Prepare for your interviews.

“You were not being asked about rocket science, kung doon, medyo off ‘yun, ‘yung halimbawa tinanong ka, how do you invent rocket ships, that’s an entirely different story. But if you are asked about same sex marriage which is hot globally, these are issues during elections. But she took a position, hindi lang niya naipaliwanag, sabi lang niya ‘yes’ pero hindi lang naipaliwanag ni Ness.

“Ako with humility, ang advise ko, sa susunod na magi-guest ka sa ibang programa, you’re not promoting a movie here, ika’y ‘piniprisinta mo ang iyong sarili sa taumbayan, and you should be ready to all these issues,” mahabang paliwanag ng TV host.

“One of my toughest interview, Leila de Lima, kung saan pinag-usapan namin mula Davao Death Squad to (Sen.) Grace Poe’s disqualification cases. Ako, that I’ve been doing political interviews for 20 years now, limang araw ako halos hindi makatulog sa kare-review at kaaaral doon sa mga bagay na maaaring pag-usapan namin ni Leila de Lima dahil ayokong paikutin ako.”

Pinanood nga raw ni Kuya Boy ang nasabing panayam ni Karen kay Alma, “It’s a political show, I expected them to talk about the Bangsamoro Basic Law, Senado ang tinatakbuhan mo (Ness), I expected them to talk about the disqualification case, its Senate Electoral Tribunal topic. That’s hard talk, you’re running for Senate seat.”

“’Yung blame game, ayoko ng naninisi because I know Karen, I don’t think she has the intent of hurting Ness. Ness naman, I don’t think had the intent also to make herself funny.

Or better yet, you should ask, what are the talking points, puwede naman ‘yun. What are we going to talk about? Did Ness assume that what were talking about what?”

“To promote a movie? It’s a political show. It’s a challenge for her,” sabi pa ni Kuya Boy.
