Jack Ma, Kris and Mr & Mrs Tan Caktiong copy

“Super na-impress ako kay Madame Lee, wife of Singapore PM! She is the CEO of TAMASEK (sovereign fund of Singapore) – their portfolio is Singapore $266 Billion – ‘di na kinaya ng calculator ko because Trillions of pesos na. She was so low key but a big boss! I was seated with her sa lunch.”

As follow-up, sinabi ko na nabasa ko ang post niya na bilib din siya kay Jack Ma.

“Sobrang BILIB!!!

I was just reading about him this weekend.”

“I was seated tonight with Alibaba Group’s owner Jack Ma (according to Forbes Magazine he has a US$200 Billion empire, a self-made man who started as a high school English teacher but now oversees the world’s largest online retailer, $394 billion in sales last year) & I had this picture taken with him & my bosses Jollibee Food Corp’s Tony & Grace Tan Caktiong (parent company of Chowking) -- so inspiring to be in the presence of achievers/billionaires who helped uplift the lives of so many through their foresight, drive, and fortitude.

“Mr. Ma told me that in his home in Hangzhou China he has 5 Filipinos in his staff, and that they are among his most trusted & loyal employees.”

“With Madame Lee, First Lady of Singapore, who is also the CEO of Temasek - I was seated beside her during our lunch & I thanked her for the good jobs of our Filipinos in Singapore.”

(DIMDO M. BALARES)
