Kinumpirma ng Japan noong Martes na isinasapinal ng Manila at Tokyo ang kasunduan na magpapahintulot ng paglilipat ng military equipment at teknolohiya sa Pilipinas.

Nagsalita sa mga mamamahayag sa Manila, gayunman, hindi sinabi ni Japan Deputy Press Secretary Koichi Mizushima, kung ito ay lalagdaan sa bilateral meeting nina Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III at Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sa sidelines ng Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting sa Miyerkules.

“The Japanese government has a very strict rule when exporting equipment,” paliwanag ni Mizushiima. “In order for us to export or share technologies with other countries, we need to have such a legal arrangement beforehand. I think that is why the countries have started negotiations.” (PNA)
