Puspusan ang pagsasanay ngayon ni WBO No. 1 Bantamweight contender Marlon Tapales ng Pilipinas sa kanyang 12-round eliminator bout laban sa walang talo na si WBO No. 2 Shohei Omori, sa Disyembre 16 sa Shimazu Arena sa Kyoto, Japan.

May kartadang 27-2-0 win-loss-draw na may 10 knockout, kailangang magwagi si Tapales laban kay Omori, na may perpektong 15 panalo, 10 ang knockout, upang maging mandatory challenger ni WBO Bantamweight champion Pungluang Sor Singyu ng Thailand.

“The 22 year old Omori is the Japanese bantamweight champion and scored stoppage wins in his last four fights,” ayon sa Philboxing.com. Huling natalo sa kontrobersiyal na 12-round majority decision ang 23 anyos na si Tapales noong 2013 laban kay Mexican David Sanchez, sa sagupaang ginanap sa Sonora, Mexico para sa WBC Silver super flyweight title.

“I was not well prepared for that fight,” sabi ni Tapales sa laban kay Sanchez. “I learned my lesson. I am training very hard now, started training early.”
