Masusing pag-aaralan ni Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III ang final report ng Philippine National Police (PNP) Board of Inquiry (BOI) tungkol sa engkuwentro sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao noong Enero 25 bago niya ihayag sa publiko ang kanyang posisyon sa usapin.
Sinabi ni Deputy Presidential Spokeswoman Abigail Valte na inaasahan nang hihingin ng Pangulo ang tulong ng mga abogado ng Malacañang sa pagbusisi sa inquiry report kapag naisumite na ang nasabing dokumento sa tanggapan ng Presidente.
“At this point, I did check with us here in the Office of the President and we’ve not received any documents yet. I understand that it would take sometime—not very long but it would have to be transmitted to us,” sinabi ni Valte sa mga mamamahayag.
“As is normal with the President, he would have to look at it himself, depends on the volume of the results and also, it would be unusual for him to call his legal team to go through the report with him before we make any public statements about the findings and the contents,” dagdag niya.

Una nang inihayag ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas na ilalabas ang inquiry report sa Mamasapano clash sa Biyernes (Marso 6) o Lunes (Marso 9).
Ang inquiry, na pinangunahan ni PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Benjamin Magalong, ay nagsiyasat sa pumalpak na operasyon ng pulisya sa Maguindanao na ikinamatay ng 44 na miyembro ng Special Action Force (SAF). Napaulat na bibigyan din ng kopya ng inquiry report ang Kongreso, Senado, Department of Justice (DoJ) at Commission on Human Rights (CHR), na nag-iimbestiga rin sa insidente. - Genalyn D. Kabiling
