Pinarangalan ng Department of Science and Technology (DoST) ang mga batang Pilipino na mahusay sa Science at Mathematics matapos magtala ng panibagong record ng bilang ng mga medalyang naiuwi mula sa mga kompetisyon sa labas ng bansa.
Ginawaran ng Youth Excellence in Science (YES) award ang mga batang nagmula sa National Capital Region at Region 3 na sumungkit ng kabuuang 468 medalya noong 2014.
“Our rise in international science and mathematics competitions every year has been consistent with our improvement in terms of the quality of science and mathematics education reported in the Global Competitiveness Report,” pahayag ni Science Eduactor Institute Director Josette Biyo.
