Ipinasisiyasat ng isang kongresista ang pag-iisyu ng mga depektibong armas at bala ng Philippine National Police sa mga tauhan ng Special Action Force (SAF) na nakipagbakbakan sa MILF at BIFF sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

“The officers and members of the PNP perform continuing vital strategic functions in the preservation of peace and order and the fight against terrorism, criminality and all forms of lawlessness in the country,” pahayag ni Isabela Rep. Rodolfo T. Albano III.

Sa kanyang HR 1909, hiniling niya na mag-imbestiga ang Committee on Public Order and Safety at ang Committee on Good Government and Accountability hinggil sa pagbili ng PNP ng mga armas na mga depektibo umano, at ibinigay sa SAF commandos.

“The acquisition, issuance and use of defective armaments and ammunition condemns the PNP’s operating forces to helplessness and ineffectiveness in ensuring that our communities are protected from criminals, terrorist and other lawless elements, and incapacitates them from preventing unnecessary losses of lives and limbs among their ranks,” bigay-diin ni Albano.

Binanggit niya ang mga pahayag at testimonya ng surviving members ng PNP Special Action Force sa Mamasapano operations sa Board of Inquiry na depektibo ang mga armas at ammunition, tulad ng mga granada, grenade launcher at iba pa kung kaya nawalan ng kakayahan ang SAF sa pakikipaglaban sa MILF at BIFF.
