Itatayo ng D.M. Consunji, Inc. ang extension project ng Light Rail Transit Line 2, inihayag ng Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).

“Railway modernization entails improving infrastructure and shifting services towards better customer-orientation. Our projects for LRT-2 will make fast, affordable, and convenient transportation accessible to residents of the densely-populated parts of Rizal, such as Antipolo and Cainta,” pahayag DoTC Secretary Jun Abaya, nang igawad ang kontrata sa DMCI.

Ang P2.27 bilyong proyekto na magdagdag ng istasyon ng LRT2 mula Santolan (Pasig City) hanggang Masinag (Cainta, Rizal). Inaasahang matatapos ito sa loob ng 18 buwan.

Ipinabatid ng DoTC, na pamahahalaan ng DMCI ang operating and maintenance ng LRT2.

Napag-alaman na nag-bid sa proyekto ang San Miguel Corporation, GT Capital Holdings, Inc., Light Rail Manila Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, RATP Development ng France at Globalvia ng Spain.
