Sa kabila ng mga akusasyon ng katiwalian, namamayagpag pa rin si Vice President Jejomar C. Binay bilang frontrunner sa mga presidentiable sa 2016 election, ayon sa resulta ng pinakahuling survey ng Social Weather Station (SWS).

Base survey na isinagawa noong Nobyembre 27 hanggang Disyembre 1, umabot sa 37 porsiyento ng mga respondent na iboboto nila si Binay bilang pangulo sa May 2016 elections.

Isinagawa ang survey sa kainitan ng imbestigasyon ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hinggil sa umano’y overpriced Makati City Hall Building 2 at iba pang anomalya mula sa iba’t ibang proyekto sa siyudad na kinasangkutan umano nito noong siya ay punong bayan pa ng Makati.

Hindi binigyan ng SWS ng listahan ng pangalan ng mga presidentiable na kanila sanang pagpipilian.

Sa halip, tinanong ang 1,800 respondent: “According to the Constitution, the term of President (Benigno Simeon) Noynoy Aquino is up to 2016 only, and there will be an election for a new president in May 2016. Who do you think are the good leaders who should succeed President Aquino as president? You may give up to three names.”

Sinundan si Binay ni Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares na nakakuha ng 21 porsiyento at Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, 19 porsiyento.

Ang tatlo ay sinundan nina Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, 10 porsiyento; Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero at Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, tig-siyam na porsiyento; Davao City Mayor Rodrigo at Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, tiglimang porsiyento; Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, tig-tatlong porsiyento; at dating Senador Manny Villar, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., at rehabilitation czar Panfilo Lacson, tig-dalawang porsiyento.
