“No. 1 Carlos Ortega of Panama and No. 2 Denver Cuello of the Philippines will go at it to determine the mandatory challenger to new champion Wanheng Menayothin,” ayon sa ulat ng Fightnews.com.

“Formerly known as the strawweight division in the WBC, a resolution to change over to the name used by the WBA was adopted by the WBC board of governors,” dagdag sa ulat. “Mauricio Sulaiman said this was one of several topics discussed at the two recent summit meetings between the WBC, WBA and IBF. He said he will approach the IBF and WBO to agree.”

“The first eliminator takes place on January 26th at the Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, Texas - when Robinson Castellanos (20-10, 13KOs) takes on Rocky Juarez (30- 10-1, 21KOs) for the WBC’s Silver title. Gonzalez will have to face the winner of that fight first,” ayon sa ulat.

“A second final eliminator was ordered, where Marvin Sonsona (19-1-1, 15KOs) would have to face unbeaten Jayson Velez (22-0, 16KOs) - and the victor of that contest would face the winner of Gonzalez vs. Juarez Castellanos,” dagdag pa sa ulat.
