Asahan na ang mga pagbabago sa panukalang P2.6 trillion sa 2015 national budget kapag nag-umpisa na ang debate sa plenaryo.
Ayon kay Senator Francis Escudero, chairman ng Senate Finance Committee, maraming magaganap na pag-amyenda sa budget na aprubado ng Palasyo at Kamara.
“If you’re asking me if the amendments we’re going to introduce are cosmetic, the answer is no. What we’ll do is reduce overhead, increase funding for frontline services, put money on programs which have been overlooked,” ani Escudero.
Sa pagtaya ni Escudero, aabot sa P91.82 bilyon ang maaapektuhan ng pagbabago ng mga budget ng education, health, nutrition, and rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Tiniyak din ni Escudero na walang magaganap na pagsingit ng budget at ito ay bukas sa publiko para mapag-aralan din at lalong walang pondo na manggagaling sa kahalintulad ng Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) at Disbursement Allocation Program (DAP).
“Remember this is a post-DAP, post-PDAF budget so the Palace should welcome efforts to validate if the provisions indeed follow the jurisprudence laid down by the High Court,” dagdag niya.
