Nagmartsa patungong Liwasang Bonifacio ang mga lider ng estudyante at grupo ng kabataan sa pamumuno ng Rise for Education at National Union of Students of the Philippines upang ipagdiwang ang International Students’ Day kahapon, Nobyembre 17.

“Since 1941, November 17 has been marked as a day to remember the sacrifices, struggles and victories of students’ collective action. Commemorating the martyrdom of Czech students that protested Nazi fascism and the take over of the University of Prague, the International Students’ Day is a strong reminder for students to fight for our rights and to never allow any monstrosity to happen again,” pahayag ni Ms. Sarah Jane Elago, convener ng R$E at national president ng NUSP.

“We converge here in Liwasang Bonifacio, as all our other members convene in different places the country over, to raise up the fight for students’ democractic rights and interests,” dagdag ni Elago.

Hiniling ng grupo sa gobyerno na pigilan ang pagtaas sa tuition at iba pang bayarin.
