Ang kampanyang “Visit Philippines Year 2015” na inilunsad ng Department of Tourism matapos ang tagumpay ng “It’s More Fun in the Philippines,” ay lalo pang umarangkada nang gawaran ang Palawan ng “Top Island in the World” base sa survey ng 30 fascinating islands worldwide ng New York-based Conde Nast Travel Magazine para sa 27th Readers Choice Awards 2014.

Sinundan ng Palawan sa top ten list ng Kiawah Island, South Carolina; Maui, Hawaii; Kauai, Hawaii; Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique; Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands, Australia; Santorini and Cyclades, Greece; St. John, US Virgin Islands; Kangaroo Island, Australia; at Big Island, Hawaii.

Sa Conde Nast survey, nasa No. 12 ang Boracay Island. Sa isa pang kategorya, ang Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa ay ginawaran ng 11th place sa Top 20 Resorts in Asia.

Partikular na binanggit ng Conde Nast ang pinakapopular na tourist destination – ang Puerto Princesa Underground River. “Palawan’s natural wonder is one of the longest underground rivers in the world, and longest in Asia, traveling five miles through a subterranean cave system. Boat tours take visitors down a portion of the waterway, where karsts, natural rock formations created by dissolving limestones, loom in every direction.” Ang underground river ay isa sa New Seven Wonders of Nature noong 2012, at idineklara bilang UNESCO World Heritage Site noong 1999.

Mainam ang mga lugar sa Palawan para sa snorkeling, swimming, at diving. Ang karagatan nito ay napaliligiran ng coral at rainbow reef walls at mayaman sa marine resources. Taglay nito ang diverse ecosystems – rainforests, mangroves, white-sand beaches, clear blue waters, limestone cliffs, at iba’t ibang isda tulad ng manta ray at di pangkaraniwang marine mammal na dugong.
