Kung masusunod ang plano ni eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, walang puknat na atake ang gagawin niya hanggang bumigay ang mga tuhod ng hahamong si Chris Algieri sa kanilang WBO welterweight title fight sa Nobyembre 23 sa Macau, China.

Sa panayam ni boxing writer Aquiles Zonio ng PhilBoxing.com sa General Santos City, iginiit ng kababata at assistant trainer ni Pacquiao na si Robert “Buboy” Fernandez na naghahanda sila ng isang “12-round non-stop offensive” laban sa walang talong Amerikano.

“We are training him for more head movements, more punching combinations and a non-stop assault. We expect a bigger and taller Algieri to run around the ring. We should be ready for that. But, just in case, Algieri decides to mix it up then much better. The fight would end earlier,” ayon kay Fernandez.

Idinagdag ni Fernandez na mahalaga ang kanilang game plan dahil tiyak na tatakbo nang tatakbo si Algieri para makaiwas sa mga bigwas ni Pacquiao kaya kailangang malimitahan nila ang galaw ni Algieri sa loob ng lonang parisukat.

“We will employ non-stop pressure. Our fighting congressman will chase him wherever he goes. Then try to throw three to five punching combinations to the head and body,” giit ni Fernandez.

Umamin din ang matagal nang kasama ni Pacquiao sa mga laban sa iba’t ibang panig ng daigdig na nanakit ang kanyang mga kamao sa lakas ng mga suntok ng kababata sa mitts session.

“There was no fracture but the doctor advised me to take a rest for two weeks. I can’t do that at this stage when we’re on the thick of training for the Algieri fight. No matter what would happen, the training should continue,” dagdag ni Fernandez. “The way I see it, he’s 88 percent ready at this stage. It’s still a long way to go. My job is to prepare him for a more heavy training when Coach Freddie Roach arrives.”
