Wala nang hadlang ang pondo para ibilang sa PhilHealth ang lahat ng senior citizen matapos maglaan ng halaga ang Senate Finance Committee.
Ayon kay Senator Francis Escudero aprubado na ang Senate Bill No. 712 na nag-aatas na pondohan ang kalusugan ng mga senior citizen sa bansa.
“Without prejudice to our counterparts in Congress, PhilHealth’s 2015 budget will feature an amount to cover the premiums of all senior citizens. We will not wait for the approval of the counterpart measure of this bill in the House; it could take a longer while before this gets funded so we might as well appropriate funds now,” ani Escudero
Sa panukala ni Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, nagkasundo ang mga senador na maglaan ng P116 bilyon pondo para sa senior citizens’ health insurance sa budget ngayong 2015. Ito ay nasa ilalim din ng National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) sa pamamagitan ng PhilHealth.
