Inirekomenda ni Senator Grace Poe kay Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas na atasan si Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Alan LM Purisima na mag-file ng leave bunsod ng mga kasong plunder na kinahaharap nito.

Hindi naman nakadalo si Purisima sa budget hearing ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) kahapon dahil nasa Bogota, Colomba ito upang dumalo sa isang anti-kidnapping conference.

“I’d like to go back to my appeal to you being the head of the DILG, and I think that personally. I know what you probably think about the situation but as always, you remain prudent–to make the strong recommendations to the President about the importance also of the confidence and the trust of the ones being led by the Chief, PNP and that I think that the institution itself is worth saving in terms of the morale of the police officers,” ani Poe.

Aniya, bagamat hindi pa naman napatunayang nagkasala si Purisima, dapat na gayahin nito ang nangyari sa ilang senador na sinuspinde habang nagkakaroon ng imbestigasyon hinggil sa pagkakasangkot sa mga kasong katiwalian upang maiwasan na maimpluwensiya ng mga ito ang kasong inihain laban sa kanila.

Sinabi ni Poe na may kapangyarihan si Roxas na magrekomenda sa Pangulo hinggil sa kaso ni Purisima na nahaharap sa dalawang plunder case.

“I feel that a leader should have a purpose higher than himself and all of us. I feel that it’s unfair to the PNP especially to the others if the topmost person is not even available to defend the institution during a budget hearing”, dagdag pa ni Poe.

Si Purisima ay nakatakdang dumalo sa Senate hearing sa Lunes hinggil naman sa modernisasyon ng PNP.
