Iginiit ni dating undisputed world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield na kailangang labanan ni WBC at WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. si WBO at eight-division world titlist Manny Pacquiao para hindi mabahiran ang kanyang pamana sa professional boxing.

Sa panayam ni Brad Cooney ng Examiner.com, iginiit ni Holyfield na dapat nang tapusin ni Mayweather ang maraming mga katwiran at harapin na lamang sa ibabaw ng ring si Pacquiao bago magretiro.

“Floyd’s legacy will be forever tarnished if he doesn’t face the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao before he retires,” ani Holyfield. “I’m calling for Mayweather to get this fight figured out, and make it (the fight) happen.”

Sinabi naman ni Top Rank big boss Bob Arum na tanging si Mayweather ang humaharang para matuloy ang pinakamalaking laban sa kasaysayan ng boksing sa modernong panahon.

“[The issue of exclusive network deals] was the biggest impediment in my mind. That is no longer an impediment. We are not an impediment.,” sabi ni Arum sa The Telegraph ng United Kingdom.

“There’s no drug testing problem, nothing. We are ready to do the fight,” dagdag ni Arum. “There is only now one impediment and he’s been the major impediment to this fight and that’s Floyd Mayweather.”
