Irerekomenda ni Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, Senator Pia Cayetano, ang demolisyon o ang “chopping off” sa kontrobersiyal na Torre de Manila condominium na nakasira sa sight line ng Rizal Park, partikular sa bantayog ni Dr. Jose P. Rizal sa Maynila.

Sinabi ni Cayetano na ikinokonsidera ng Senate panel ang nasabing mga rekomendasyon pagkatapos isagawa ng Office of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) noong nakaraang linggo ang on-site inspection.

“Yes. One option really is for interested parties to file their own case,” sinabi ni Cayetano sa isang panayam sa radyo. “But I am quite clear that I will really recommend, we will really state the fact, that there was clearly a violation here. Since I’m the only chair who focused on this issue, my colleagues will use the results of the research I did. So most likely it will be very clear that there was a violation here. What are our options? It could be to demolish and as I said it can be chopped-off,” aniya. - Hannah L. Torregoza
