Dapat na ikonsidera rin na “overpriced” ang Iloilo Convention Center at pagbili ng electric vehicles ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Taguig kung gagamiting basehan ang impormasyon mula sa National Statistics Office (NSO), ayon kay Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay.

Ayon sa alkalde, walang kakayahan ang NSO na patunayan ang alegasyon kaugnay ng plunder case na isinampa laban sa kanya at sa amang si Vice President Jejomar Binay.

Iminungkahi rin ni Mayor Binay kay Senator Antonio Trillanes IV na humirit ng Senate probe sa alegasyon ng overpricing; na dapat nitong imbestigahan ang ulat kaugnay sa pagbili ng Taguig ng umano’y mga overpriced na multi-cab vehicle na nagkakahalaga ng halos P500,000 gamit ang Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) ng kanyang kapartido na si Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

“Senator Cayetano has declared his intention to run for president. Since Senator Trillanes has admitted he wants my father probed because he is a candidate for president, then I suggest the good senator also probe his party mate to show that he is fair,” sabi ni Mayor Binay.

Idinugtong nito na inamin ng NSO na may limitasyon ang impormasyon sa kanilang construction at building costs dahil ang pagtayang isinagawa ay ibinatay sa aprubadong aplikasyon ng gusali at documentary requirements at hindi sa aktuwal na gastos sa konstruksiyon.

“If NSO data were to be used, the conclusion would be that other government projects like the Iloilo Convention Center are overpriced. We are are not saying it is, only to emphasize the unreliability of using the NSO,” pahayag ng alkalde.

Nabatid na ang Makati City Hall Building 2 at Iloilo Convention Center ay parehong itinayo ng Hillmarcs contractor.

“The cost of the Iloilo Convention Center, based on the Senate report, is P700,000,000. But if you use the NSO data, the cost should only be P86,265,600. So if you use the argument of Renato Bondal which appears be supported by Senator Trillanes, then the Iloilo Convention Center is overpriced by P613,734,400,”diin nito.

Giit ng alkalde, malinaw na mali na gamitin ang impormasyon sa NSO bilang basehan para sa ebalwasyon ng kaukulang gastos ng mga proyekto ng gobyerno.
