Nakatakdang maglaban ngayon sa isang charity exhibition game ang mga piling manlalaro ng National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sa unang NCAA All-Star Game na gaganapin sa FilOil Flying V Arena sa San Juan City.
Hinati sa dalawang koponan ang mga manlalarong pinili ng kanilang mga kinatawan sa NCAA Management Committee sa tulong na rin ng kanilang coaches.
Ang dalawang koponan, ang East All-Star at West All-Star ay nakatakdang gabayan nina reigning champion San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez at Letran coach Caloy Garcia, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
Napili para bumuo sa East All-Star team sina Baser Amer, Kyle Pascual at Arthur dela Cruz ng San Beda College (SBC), Bradwyn Guinto, Jaymar Perez at Jovit dela Cruz ng San Sebastian College (SSC), Earl Scottie Thompson, Harold Arboleda at Juneric Baloria ng University of Perpetual Help Dalta System (UPHDS), Prince Caperal, Isiah Ciriacruz at John Pinto ng Arellano University (AU), Philip Paniamogan, Michael Mabulac at rookie Bernabe Teodoro ng Jose Rizal University (JRU).
Nakahanay naman upang maglaro sa West team sina Kevin Raca. Rey Nambatac at Mark Cruz ng Letran College (LC), Mark Romero, Roberto Bartolo at Juan Paulo Taha ng College of St. Benilde (CSB), Jack Arquero, John Tayongtong at Jan Jamon ng Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), Jeson Cantos, Jessie Saitanan at Andrew Estrella ng Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT), at Shane Ko, Dexter Zamora at rookie Joseph Gabayni ng Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU).
“We’ll have kids from Hospicio de San Jose as guests and beneficiary. Portions of proceeds will also go to NCAA players in the national team and the NCAA personnel assistance fund,” pahayag ni NCAA Management Committee chairman at season host JRU Athletic Director Paul Supan.
Bago ang All-Star Game na gaganapin sa ganap na alas-3:00 ng hapon, magkakaroon muna ng side events na 3-point shootout at slam dunk contest na magsisimula sa ganap na ala-1:30 ng hapon habang idaraos naman sa umaga sa ganap na alas-10:30 ang 2014 Miss NCAA competition.
