Sinuspinde ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang overseas voter’s registration sa limang bansa na hotspots, sa pangunguna ng Libya, alinsunod na rin sa rekomendasyon ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Ayon kay Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez, bukod sa Libya, suspendido rin muna ang voter registration sa Syria, Iraq, Gaza Strip at Ukraine.
Batay, aniya, ito sa rekomendasyon ng FDA na agarang suspendihin ang overseas voters registration sa naturang mga lugar na kasalukuyang napapagitna sa krisis.
“FYI: Comelec has approved the recommendation of the DFA to suspend voter registration in Libya, Syria, Iraq, the Gaza Strip and the Ukraine,” tweet pa ni Jimenez.
